Marsalforn,once a small fishing village, has now evolved into the main tourist resort of the island. It is at its peak during the summer school holidays where due to its open layout, and being the most northbound bay of the island many Maltese & Gozitans migrate here for its cool summer breeze in their summer residences. With its sandy beaches and rocky diving spots it is an ideal place to satisfy all tastes. In the evening it transforms into a meeting place where many people love to meet, talk and walk the promenade or dine al fresco in one of the seaside restaurants. As for me, the owner of Abacus Apartments and an all year resident of Marsalforn, I love the tranquility of the winter months, where one can enjoy walking through the hilly country side near by which is covered in a carpet of velvety greens, yellows and reds according to season.

Up the hill from Marsalforn to the East is the village of Xaghra, where the Ggantija Temples are located. These prehistoric temples are 3500 years old. To the West is the village of Zebbug. Qbajjar Bay and Xwejni Bay are a 30 minutes walk away. Xwejni Bay is home to a large area of Salt Pans, built in the Roman times and are still harvested during the summer months.
